Thesis Description
Stereoscopic vision is a key ingredient of any virtual reality system. Several algorithms have been proposed to compute the viewing tranformations of the scene geometry to produce the left-eye and right-eye stereo pairs. Some of these algorithms use head-tracking data from one (tracked) user. In multi-user immersive displays, images are generated from the point of view of the tracked user, so that other users might see distorted images. The main goal of this project is to develop a tool to visualize and analyze distorsions and other effects on depth perception produced by using non-orthostereoscopic algorithms. This tool will enable the study of the impact of different parameters (such as relative position of tracked user with respect to non-tracked users) on depth perception
