42000 - Methodology of Computer Science Research (MRI)

To introduce the main methods and techniches to write scientific articles.

1. The nature of scientific investigation: epistemological aspects.
2. Different aspects: experimenting, prototypes, theoretical development.
3. Information about results: structure of an article, publication in congresses vs. publication in magazines, article taxonomy. Phases of a publication.
4. Team work.
5. Evaluation of results: revision process.
6. Oral presentations: structure and difficulties. Help software.

Different types of activities, such as attending lessons, reading and studying additional material (articles and book chapters) to acquire complementary knowledge, and oral presentations, will be distributed within a total of 6 ECTS (180 work hours).


Evaluation will take into account the different activities done along the course.
