Thesis Description
In the last few years several algorithms have been proposed to to dynamically calculate a voxel-based representation of a scene using programmable graphics hardware, allowing the real-time creation of voxelizations even for complex and dynamic scenes containing more than one million polygons. However, current algorithms have some inherent limitations, such as the lack of flexibility for assigning data to each created voxel, or to guarantee that all voxels intersected by the boundary are correctly generated. The main goal of this project is to implement and evaluate these algorithms, identify their limitations and propose some improvements so that they can be used in broad range of applications.Comments
