Thesis Description

The work to be developed by the student Olga Petrenko within her Master thesis is in the context of simulation of Vegetation. One of the most important problems in the interactive visualization of outdoor scenes is the representation of the vegetable species. Plants and trees are extremely complex objects, because they are composed of a huge number of polygons that practically prevents rendering a real- time rendering. In this Master thesis, the modeling and rendering of flowers will be targeted, specifically: · An authoring tool for the interactive generation and management of 3D models of flowers, and for interactive lighting design and control of global illumination. · Rendering tools and new algorithms for real-time rendering of the created models, using Level-Of-Detail and billboard models with the use of the latest hardware.
